Assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to the MDUSL in-house solicitors.
Key Accountabilities
========================
In order that a high level of assistance is given, helping MDUSL solicitors with:
Clinical negligence claims
GMC and/or GDC proceedings
Other criminal investigations, tribunal proceedings and Coroner's inquests.
Drafting and proof-reading, including compiling attendance notes, taking notes at court, proofreading documents, letter writing and summarising legal documents so that all written communication is accurate and delivered in a timely fashion.
Attending Court on behalf of/as well as a Solicitor.
Performing/coordinating legal research in order to assist the solicitors.
Preparing litigation bundles and helping to manage case files.
General administrative tasks including filing documents at Court, arranging meetings, photocopying, dealing with invoices.
Liaising with Members and taking accurate witness statements.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Law degree or equivalent qualification such as SQE1
LPC or SQE2 qualified (preferable but not essential)
Thorough knowledge of legal principles
Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques
Thorough knowledge of legal terminology
Relevant computer knowledge and experience

Understands and complies with the rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority, in particular its application to in-house practice
Complies with the IHL file management protocol and works according to the stated guidelines
* Builds strong relationships with IHL solicitors to ensure a high-quality service is provided.
