experienced Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) Paralegals
who want more responsibility, more impact, and a real future.
THE ROLE:
This is not a routine paralegal role.
You will be embedded in complex and high-impact Court of Protection work, supporting solicitors on matters that genuinely change lives. You'll gain exposure to challenging cases, meaningful advocacy, and high-level decision-making -- with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as you grow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting solicitors on complex Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) matters, including s.16 and s.21A MCA 2005 proceedings
Assisting with deputyship applications, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA), and DoLS matters
Liaising confidently with clients, experts, local authorities, and the Official Solicitor
Preparing and managing court documentation and case files to a high professional standard
Playing an active role in ongoing cases from instruction through to resolution
Contributing to the growth and development of the department, including business development initiatives
Delivering exceptional client care in sensitive and emotionally complex situations
ABOUT YOU:
This role is suited to someone who is experienced, capable, and ready to contribute from day one.
You will ideally have:
Hands-on experience in Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) work
Strong understanding of Mental Capacity Act 2005 proceedings
Excellent organisation and case management skills
Confident, professional communication -- written and verbal
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word & Excel essential)
Legal Aid and CCMS experience (highly desirable)
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (advantageous)
Eligibility to work in the UK
