Role: Paralegal Personal Injury (Work and Public Place Injury)

Working Hours: Monday Friday, 9am 5pm (35 hours per week)

The Role:
As a Paralegal within our WPPI team, you will be responsible for your own case load, dedicated to pursuing compensation for clients who have been injured at work or in a public place. As a key part of a skilled team, you will work to obtain maximum compensation for our clients and delivering excellent client experience. You will be able to make a positive difference to your clients day-to-day lives.
You will manage your own cases, with a mixture of litigated and pre-litigation cases. You will be responsible for progressing clients claims, including; case investigations, all aspects of client communication, third party negotiation, and working with senior team members to advance litigated claims.
We will consider candidates with all levels of personal injury experience. Ideally, you will have a strong background in pursuing personal injury actions prior to litigation, and/or in the Sheriff Court, the All Scotland Personal Injury Court, and the Court of Session. Experience with written Court pleading and instructing Counsel is desired.
You will be able to work autonomously, with support and supervision from a team leader, Solicitors, and other experienced Paralegals within the team. You will also have the support of a dedicated Secretarial team and Legal Assistants.

Responsibilities:
Manage, and assist with, a case holding of personal injury (specifically work and public place injury) matters
Conduct, and assist with, initial client consultations
Take detailed precognitions from clients
Help to develop and implement effective legal strategies to investigate and support clients claims
Maintain regular communication with clients to provide matter updates
Conduct thorough case investigations and gather relevant information and documentation
Assist with the drafting of Court documents
Work collaboratively with Solicitors, Paralegals, Legal Assistants and other team members
Communicate with relevant third parties and insurers via phone & email
