The Relief Store Manager provides ongoing leadership and operational support across multiple bakery locations. This role ensures consistent store performance by stepping in to manage day-to-day operations when store managers are absent, on leave, or when additional leadership coverage is required. The Relief Manager maintains high standards of product quality, customer service, food safety, and team performance while helping stores meet sales and profitability goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
Oversee daily bakery operations across assigned locations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
Open or close the store as needed, following company procedures.
Ensure consistent product preparation, display, and freshness standards.
Maintain stock levels, receive and organise deliveries, and manage waste to control costs.
Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
Leadership & Team Management
Provide hands-on leadership and support to bakery teams across multiple locations.
Train, coach, and mentor staff on best practices, customer service, and food safety guidelines.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues in a professional, timely manner.
Ensure the bakery atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and aligned with brand standards.
Support and lead customer engagement initiatives to build loyalty and satisfaction.
Sales & Financial Performance
Support stores in achieving sales targets, controlling labor and operating costs, and optimizing resource use.
Monitor key performance indicators and assist in implementing action plans to improve results.
Execute promotional displays, seasonal product set-ups, and brand marketing initiatives.
Compliance & Safety
Maintain strict adherence to company policies, including food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
Conduct store inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and brand requirements.
Complete required documentation and reporting accurately and on time.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in retail or food service management (bakery experience preferred).
Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to different store environments and team dynamics.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Capable of working early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between store locations
