Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, assisting with food and beverage preparation, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right applicant. This role offers an engaging work environment where attention to detail and a positive attitude are highly valued.

Duties

Welcome customers and take their orders in a courteous and professional manner Prepare and serve food and beverages, including barista-style drinks if applicable Assist with food presentation and ensure food safety standards are maintained at all times Clear tables, clean work areas, and ensure the cafe remains tidy and inviting Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the POS system Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during busy periods Support catering events or special functions as required Maintain a good knowledge of menu items to assist customers effectively

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable; restaurant or barista experience is a plus Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if necessary A proactive approach to customer service with attention to detail A positive attitude who enjoys working in a lively environment
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality who wish to develop their skills within a supportive team.

Flexibility is required so you should be available across week days and weekends. Shifts will be scheduled by rota in advance.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week
