Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-time Data Updater to assist with maintaining and enhancing our data repositories. This role offers flexible hours and is ideal for individuals with a passion for data management, analysis, and optimisation. The successful candidate will support ongoing projects by updating datasets, ensuring data accuracy, and assisting with various data-related tasks. Familiarity with a range of data tools and programming languages is highly desirable to contribute effectively to our team.

Duties

Update and maintain datasets across multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency Utilise tools such as Tableau and Power BI to visualise data trends and generate reports Assist in the design and optimisation of databases using Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and related technologies Conduct data analysis to support business decision-making processes Collaborate on project management activities related to data updates within the SDLC framework Write and optimise SQL queries; develop scripts using VBA, Python, R, Bash (Unix shell), as required Support business analysis initiatives by providing insights from data sets Contribute to database design improvements and documentation using Visio or similar tools Ensure compliance with organisational standards for data security and integrity

Qualifications

Proven experience with SQL, including writing complex queries for data retrieval and manipulation Familiarity with database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar platforms Knowledge of data visualisation tools including Tableau and Power BI Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, VBA, or Bash (Unix shell) is advantageous Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets effectively Understanding of SDLC processes related to data projects Business analysis experience to translate organisational needs into technical solutions Proficiency in database design principles and project management practices Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in data handling tasks
