RARA CATERERS in Ruislip Middlesex is looking for proactive and enthusiastic, experienced candidates for assistant event operation manager with well communication and customer service skills. Candidate must have relevant experience in similar hospitality industry and well knowledgeable about food and beverages. Salary: 12.00 to 15 an hour
Report to: - Event Manager
Operational Duties
Gain a complete understanding of the event requirements, including service type (e.g., buffet or sit-down meal), guest numbers, and special requests.
Take clear and detailed instructions from Managers and Chefs, and manage the full event plan covering staff coordination, equipment preparation, timing, and transportation logistics.
Review the event
checklist
based on the
booking sheet
to ensure all elements are accounted for.
Oversee the
loading of vehicles
, ensuring that all food, utensils, and equipment are packed in accordance with the pre-prepared checklist.
Arrive
punctually at the venue
, liaise with the event organiser, and monitor the
unloading
of food and equipment, ensuring proper storage as per the pre-set plan. Conduct an initial
staff briefing
regarding venue setup and task allocations.
Set up the
kitchen
and
front-of-house
areas according to the event plan. Organise a
second team briefing
to provide training on service methods, duty assignments, and end-of-event procedures.
Manage a strict
inventory system
for all catering equipment, utensils, and vehicles. Ensure all items are hygienically maintained and safely handled during and after the event.
Ensure the smooth execution of the event through careful
pre-planning
, maintaining a high level of
professionalism
and calm when interacting with guests.
Perform regular
compliance checks
on food hygiene, health and safety, and risk assessment protocols throughout the event.
Monitor and ensure there is always an adequate supply of
crockery, cutlery, glassware, linen
, and other essential equipment and stock.
