Winterslow Pre-School requires a part time Financial Administrator to process and raise invoices for children's attendance and teaching resources. Some additional administration work will be required, as necessary.
Hours:
Up to 8 hours per month during term time and up to 6 hours a month during holiday periods. The role will involve the successful candidate working most of the time at home.
Hourly rate:
The hourly rate is 15.50.
Knowledge/Skills desired:
Computer processing skills - use of Excel / software packages etc.
General accounting and book-keeping - experience of Xero accounting system will be useful.
Be able to communicate ideas regarding the pre-school finances and receive and process information from others.
Ability to learn a systematic approach to accounting and to maintain the integrity of the financial data of the pre-school.
Job description
:
a) Invoices and Expenditure etc
Process and issue any general invoices and pay suppliers/official organisations e.g. OfSTED registration/Insurance.
Monitor payments as they are received and reconcile using Xero accounting system.
Pay staff for any resources purchased.
Track bank account balances & transactions.
Reconcile wage payments in XERO.
b) Raise invoices for children's attendance each term:
Use the attendance hours provided by the Manager to raise and issue invoices to the parents of children on roll.
Send invoices to parents via Tapestry software & respond to any queries rec'd from parents.
Chase any non-payments by issuing standard letters - this might lead to possible court proceedings.
Monitor payments on Xero as they are received and reconcile the invoices.
Add payments on to Tapestry.
Other duties:
Prepare the End of Year accounts via Xero software in liaison with the Treasurer.
Advertise all vacancies on INDEED or other employment websites.
Perform other accounting responsibilities, as occasionally requested by the Trustees/Management Committee.
If requested by HMRC, complete the annual Corporation tax return - CT600 (usually a Nil return)
Pay-in to bank and take out funds for petty cash.
