Job Description

We're a growing UK accounting practice looking to bring on a

part-time or freelance bookkeeper / management accountant

to take over weekly bookkeeping for a client that uses

invoice factoring

.

This role is ideal for someone who already freelances or works part-time and has

daytime availability

to liaise with both the client and the factoring provider when needed.

The role

You'll be responsible for the

ongoing weekly bookkeeping

for one client, ensuring records are accurate, reconciled, and up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

Weekly bookkeeping in Xero (or similar cloud software) Managing and reconciling a

factoring control account

Posting and reconciling: Invoice advances Retentions Factoring fees Interest charges Reconciling: Sales ledger Factoring statements Bank accounts Liaising directly with the client to resolve queries Flagging issues or discrepancies clearly and proactively

Essential experience

This role is

not suitable for juniors

or those without hands-on factoring experience.

You

must

have:

Proven, hands-on experience working with

invoice factoring or invoice discounting

Strong bookkeeping and reconciliation experience Experience maintaining and reconciling

control accounts

Confidence working independently without day-to-day supervision Ability to explain figures clearly to non-accountants Must have experience with Sage Cloud

Qualifications

One of the following (or equivalent experience):

ACCA / CIMA / ACA (qualified or part-qualified) AAT Level 4 with strong practical experience
Practical experience is more important than letters after your name.

Availability

Approximately

6 hours per week

Must be available

during UK business hours

(not evenings only) Freelance or part-time preferred
