Rate of pay per hour
: 20.35 (weekdays) 22.60 (weekends and worked bank holidays)
We are a specialist Case Management Company supporting individuals with life changing injuries. We are not the employer for this post, the employer is a Deputy on behalf of the client.
Looking for Neuro Rehab Support Workers/ Neuro Rehab assistants
The client is a bright, intelligent 47-year-old man with a brain injury, living in Luton in family home.
The team is led by a Neuro Psychologist, with regular training and input from Neuro Physio, Speech and OT.
Work includes supporting; gym visits, physio, socialising, local visits (i.e. shopping, or out for Lunch), day trips to Brighton or London Museums, crosswords and word games and personal care.
You would be joining an experienced team, with no solo work and always with an established team member.

We are in need of cover for the following days/shifts as a priority. These are regular shifts, and you will need to be able to commit to the hours every week.
Mon, - 8am to 8pm
Tuesday 8am -2pm
Thursdays 8am -8pm
Cover and overtime are often available.
Salary: 20.35-22.60 per hour
Subject to enhanced DBS check

Neurological Support Worker/ Rehabilitation Assistant
Purpose Of Job
The job of a Neurological Support Worker/ Rehabilitation Assistantis to aid clients with functional tasks and provide assistance to them when engaging in their local community where they, due to their brain injury, are unable to independently do so. This may relate to their personal care, social, vocational or leisure interests as identified by the client.
Through the development of an effective relationship with the client, a Neurological Support Worker/ Rehabilitation Assistantwill provide support, prompt, plan and implement strategies alongside both the client and the external multi-disciplinary team to achieve their goals. A Neurological Support Worker/ Rehabilitation Assistantmust be able to provide this level of support whilst dealing with different challenges and situations as they arise through a strong understanding of the client's needs, strengths and limitations.
Duties
To assist the client with their activities of daily living.
To assist the client with their personal care.
To gain a strong understanding of the client's likes, wants and requirements.
To deal with challenges and situations as they arise, taking and empowerment, client centred and problem-solving approach.
To work alongside other agencies and therapists, carrying out support tasks as designated by them.
To create and participate in activities meaningful to the client.
To escort the client when required to appointments or social and leisure activities.
To undertake training, both mandatory and bespoke as required by the client.
To work with the other support staff, case management and external staff in a professional manner.
To always maintain the client's confidentiality.
To maintain clear, accurate notes / session summaries.
To perform any other reasonable duties that fall within Neurological Support Worker/ Rehabilitation Assistant role as deemed necessary by Management.

Person Specification
A suitable applicant for this job would have a strong understanding of brain function, and an experience of working with people with brain injuries and neurological conditions.
Essential
An understanding of issues that affect those with brain injuries or neurological conditions.
Able to quickly build rapport with the client.
A strong grasp of spoken and written English.
Enhanced DBS
All Mandatory training carried out.
Clear speaking voice.
Able to respond to email communications.
Able to write factual concise notes.
Willingness to participate in word-based games/crossword puzzles and quizzes.
Experience working with clients in their own home
Previous support work experience over 1 year.
Ability to create and follow session plans/activities suited to the client.
Full current driving licence. Confident to drive the client's adapted vehicle at night, over long distances and into London/cities.
Reliably able to attend all shifts.
Good sense of humour.
Compassionate approach at all times.
Desirable
Experience of speech and language techniques.
Experience working alongside clients with brain injury or neurological condition.
Experience of working within MDT - Physiotherapy, Speech and language therapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychology.
