We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. Duties
Plan, organise, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Supervise children during playtime, meal times, and rest periods to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour.
Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards.
Assist in organising daily routines and special events within the nursery environment.
Contribute to a team environment by providing leadership and guidance to junior staff or apprentices when required.
Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and stimulating at all times.
Drive nursery vehicles for outings or errands if necessary, adhering to all safety regulations.
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting.
Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Childcare qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent recognised certification.
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or equipment.
Ability to organise activities effectively whilst ensuring children's safety at all times.
