Nursery Practitioner - Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of our team, you will:
Support Children's Development
Contribute to the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children.
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities.
Carry out observations and assessments for your key children.
Work Closely With Families & Colleagues
Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a welcoming, supportive atmosphere.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and nursery events to continue your professional growth.
Help Create a Safe, Stimulating Environment
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety.
Follow all nursery policies and procedures.
Ensure the nursery is inclusive and meets the needs of children from all cultures and backgrounds.
Provide Essential Care
Support children during mealtimes, helping create a warm, social atmosphere.
Assist with changing, washing, and comforting children as needed.
Respond sensitively to each child's individual needs.
Person SpecificationQualifications
Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Childcare
GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Experience
Previous experience in an early years setting is essential.
Skills & Personal Qualities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confident with ICT
Calm, positive, and nurturing approach
Ability to work sensitively with families
Strong initiative and a collaborative mindset
Commitment to delivering a safe, stimulating learning environment
Hours & Structure
Part-time hours:
8am-1pm or1pm-6pm
Monday to Friday, term-time only
