We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Purchase Ledger Administrator to join our Accounts team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing our purchase ledger, ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining efficient purchase accounts records. This position requires strong numerical and clerical skills and proficiency in purchase accounting procedures.
Duties
Process purchase invoices / credit notes and ensure they are accurately matched to purchase orders, GRN's, nominal codes and recorded correctly in the ledger.
Perform regular reconciliations of supplier statements to maintain accurate records.
Undertake the preparation of spreadsheets and reports relating to purchase payment runs.
Work closely with the Accounts Manager in reconciling VAT on import invoices checking and recording accurate C88 / C79 / CDS records / spreadsheets
Maintain an organised filing system for all purchase-related documents.
Handle queries from suppliers and internal departments regarding invoices and payments, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
Support the Accounts team with administrative tasks as required, ensuring all duties are completed efficiently.
Work with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
Experience
Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role is essential, preferably within a purchase accounting or other accounting environment.
Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
Excellent computer skills, including the ability to navigate various office software efficiently.
