Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our catering team as a part time cook/chef. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, contributing to the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, along with a commitment to maintaining food safety standards.

Due to rural location, own transport is required. Applicants must have full UK right to work, no Sponsorship is available. Applicant has to be flexible in terms of days on shift to work around current cooking team.

Responsibilities

Preparation of ingredients for meals, ensuring all food is fresh and of high quality. Cook and assemble dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to hygiene and food safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service times. Participate in meal preparation for special events as required. Support the head chef in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas when appropriate. Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any issues promptly. Ensure meals are prepared to SALT requirements for residents with swallowing issues.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a Nursing/Care Home setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation. Pay: 13.00-13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
