The Energy Innovation Agency (The Agency) have an exciting opportunity for a Partnerships Manager who will lead the establishment and development of long-term strategic operational relationships with key stakeholders in Greater Manchester (GM) and beyond.

The Agency is a public, private partnership formed by eight partners in GM, created to accelerate the decarbonisation of energy systems increasing the deployment of innovative energy solutions in GM and beyond, to speed up the reduction of carbon emissions.

Background:

GM is a vibrant, dynamic, and innovative city region. The city declared a climate emergency in 2019 and has committed to becoming carbon-neutral by 2038. We want to lead the green revolution and decarbonise the city region, enabling our citizens, homes, businesses, and industries, to benefit from cleaner, greener, more affordable energy.

Through our unique partnership, the Agency is supporting energy innovators to grow and scale their businesses in GM, enabling us to benefit from innovations and accelerate the reduction of carbon emissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong network of organisations in GM for low-carbon energy innovation deployment.
  • Identify and evaluate influential contacts in new or existing partners to facilitate referrals.
  • Develop engagement plans with strategic delivery partners.
  • Raise market awareness of the Agency amongst stakeholders, partners, national programme leads and potential business partners.
  • Inform partners, stakeholders, and sponsors about the wider portfolio of Agency business support services, products, and programmes.
  • Facilitate alignment of Agency activities across local and regional LEP/Growth Hubs and national programmes to improve external and internal communication and collaboration.
About you:
  • Ability to establish, develop and maintain a diverse network of strategic relationships which result in suitable innovation opportunities for the Agency.
  • Ability to identify and promote business development opportunities for the Agency and our partners, with innovators, delivery partners, and third-party organisations.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, experienced in working with diverse stakeholders and handling press and PR opportunities.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Confidence and ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.
Experience & Knowledge:
  • Practical experience in a similar role, operating as a credible ambassador. communicating with a range of audiences is essential.
  • Practical delivery of relationship building and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in energy product and/or service innovation, ideally with a net zero focus (desirable).
  • Experience in identifying and securing third-party interest in developing innovation opportunities (desirable).
  • Proven ability in streamlining business processes.
  • Degree level or relevant professional qualification.
  • Knowledge of the UK\xe2\x80\x99s energy systems and the implications of a net zero energy transition (desirable).
  • Existing Greater Manchester / regional Business and investment community networks (desirable).
Access to a car and a valid driving license is essential.
