Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional kitchen environment and develop culinary skills.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring timely meal service Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety standards Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during meal preparation Assist with the storage of perishable goods, ensuring proper labelling and rotation Support serving staff during meal service as required Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment Help with general cleaning duties within the kitchen area to uphold hygiene standards

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided Knowledge of food preparation and safety practices is advantageous Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation processes are preferred Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately Good organisational skills and attention to detail Willingness to learn new skills and contribute positively to the team Ability to work flexible hours as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-13.08 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
