We help UK businesses and Education Sector Organisation such as Schools and Trusts with Managed IT Support, Cyber Security, Cloud and Infrastructure Projects.
Turnover is approaching 3 million with a mix of contracted re-occurring revenue and project sales -- we're now ready to bring stronger financial control and forward planning into the business. We need the expertise for the next part of our journey!

The Opportunity



We're looking for an experienced

Financial Controller

to work closely with our Managing Director and the Business Support Manager, bringing structure, visibility and planning to our finances.

You'll build be asked to build a cashflow forecast, manage cash flow using the renowned Profit First System (we will provide training), prepare monthly management accounts, and help us plan Supplier Payments, VAT, PAYE and Tax payments confidently. Managing the volume of invoices is being done by the Business Support Manager.
This role suits a hands-on professional who enjoys making a tangible impact inside a growing SME with aspirations to scale. Experience in a Tech Environment and in a reseller business would be advantageous, as the buying and selling of hardware/software and services supplied by our vendors is a big part of the business and impacts how the cash flow is managed and payments prioritised etc.

What You'll Do



Own our

cashflow forecasting and planning

- identify issues before they hit. Manage

Profit First revenue allocations

and monitor the funding/payments Produce

monthly management accounts

and simple dashboards for the MD. Monitor and report on profitability Schedule payments and maintain healthy supplier relationships. Forecast

VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax

liabilities. Look for all possible VAT and corporation tax savings Help plan payments for suppliers, tax etc. Review and streamline bookkeeping, payroll and internal finance processes. Streamline processes between the sales team, suppliers and Breathe. Liaise with our external accountant on compliance, R&D claims and year-end. Build a model to regularly check profitability levels and work with the MD to adjust business and sales targets. Manage annual price increases. Review outgoings for cost savings. (bookkeeping/invoicing). If you are able to, produce annual accounts. We have unaudited accounts at present

What You Bring



5 + years' experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Management Accountant. Strong understanding of SME cashflow and forecasting. Strong operational experience is of great benefit Comfortable working with multi-entity setups and VAT returns. Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills for forecasting and analysis. Experience with QuickBooks Online / Xero / Sage. (We use Xero) Ideally familiar with Profit First or similar cash-management systems. However, we can provide training. Proactive, analytical and able to communicate clearly with non-finance colleagues. Any experience in a B2B reselling environment would be advantageous Experience in working for an IT business would be advantageous Experience in a business of 4-7Millkion Pound Turn Over would be advantageous Experience in a business managed by the owner would be advantageous
