Part Time Payroll Clerk

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join our growing team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing for our client's employees. This is a part-time position, ideal for someone with payroll experience who is looking for flexible hours in a busy accountancy practice.

The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently and prioritise to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities



Prepare and process weekly/monthly payroll for clients predominantly using Intuit Quickbooks Process CIS returns and file with HMRC monthly Ensure accurate data entry and timely submissions of payroll to HMRC. Publish and send payslips and payroll reports Calculate payroll liabilities including employee and employer taxes, social security contributions, unemployment, and worker's compensation payments. Data entry of payroll into clients bookkeeping records Handling payroll queries and resolving them effectively including liaising with HMRC when necessary Manage HMRC communications including RTI, dealing with queries and enquiries relating to payroll. Assisting with payroll year-end processes Performing routine audits of payroll procedures and data. Adhering to company policies and regulations at all times.

About You:



Experienced using QuickBooks Advanced Payroll or Sage Payroll

2 years experience working in payroll

An ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail.

Good organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Hours



21 Hours Part time - Monday - Friday

Flexible hours

Skills and Qualifications



Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk, Payroll Administrator, or similar role. Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. High level of organisation and ability to meet tight deadlines.
