The Role
We are seeking a confident, professional, and well-presented individual to join our team as a Switchboard Receptionist. This role is pivotal as the first point of contact for customers, clients, and visitors, providing high-quality reception, switchboard, and administrative support across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a busy switchboard and handling all incoming calls efficiently.
Identifying the nature of calls and transferring them to the appropriate department or dealing with enquiries directly where appropriate.
Welcoming and assisting visitors and clients in a professional and courteous manner.
Issuing visitor identification badges and recording arrival and departure times.
Controlling site access, including operating the entrance gate and main reception doors.
Receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming post and parcels.
Issuing Fire Drill Reports as required.
Providing general administrative support, including preparing outgoing post and assisting with ad hoc administrative tasks.
Requirements
A minimum of
two years' experience
in a similar switchboard/reception role within a corporate environment.
Excellent telephone manner with strong customer service skills.
Professional appearance with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
applications.
Flexibility to work additional hours during colleague absences or holidays.
Strong time-management skills with a self-disciplined approach to work.
Ability to multi-task and work accurately under pressure.
A supportive team player with a professional and approachable manner when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
