First Class Learning (FCL) is a private after-school tuition provider in Harlow, dedicated to helping children from Reception to GCSEs unlock their full potential. We don't just teach, we inspire. The Role
We're expanding our core team and looking for passionate, reliable tutors who want to make a difference. Whether you're exploring a career in education or looking for a meaningful part-time role, this is your chance to positively impact young lives.
Hours
9 to 26 hours per week
, including school holidays
Core teaching hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons
Optional: Additional hours for marking and preparation during the day - outside of class times
Important Note
A confident driver with access to a
car
, as the role involves travel between our office and tuition centres.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
A Levels (or equivalent)
GCSEs (Grades 7-9) in
Maths

English Language
, and
English Literature
Availability on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (3:30 to 6:30 pm)

Key Responsibilities
Support Learning
Guide students through National ciriculum-aligned maths and English materials
Use engaging methods to explain key concepts
Help assess student progress and identify learning gaps
Mark maths and English work and provide constructive feedback
Input weekly register and student data into bespoke software
Assist in planning and supervising educational field trips
Support students through in-class and remote teaching
Create a Positive Environment
Set up and pack down classes safely and efficiently
Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning space
Follow safeguarding and health & safety protocols
Deliver Excellent Service
Be a positive role model for students
Communicate clearly with parents and carers
Offer academic advice and support
Help resolve queries and ensure families feel supported
