We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing and experienced Pastoral Lead to join our vibrant and welcoming team at Killinghall CE Primary School. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to helping every child succeed - particularly those who are vulnerable and require additional support. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality support and fostering a positive learning environment for our children. Someone with a proven track record of exceptional practice, who is able to work with vulnerable pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). We are looking for a team-player with presence, resilience and a commitment to inclusion with the ability to work creatively for the benefit of pupils at our school.

The position is ideal for an experienced HLTA or a qualified teacher looking for a change from regular classroom practice.
Responsibilities
As Pastoral Leader you will:
Plan and deliver group or individual sessions for pupils to ensure that barriers to learning are reduced and to support pupils achieve their full potential.
To take a supporting role in monitoring to ensure that the school's systems for promoting positive behaviour and attitudes to learning are effective.
To support the planning and deliver engaging and motivating experiences so that children's learning is understood developmentally; the classroom offers a safe base; nurture is important for the development of self-esteem; language is understood as a vital means of communication; all behaviour is communication; transitions are significant in the lives of children.
Plan and deliver cover lessons when a teacher is out on a course or has leadership time.
Plan and deliver interventions for pupils across the school who require targeted support; this ranges from pupils with special educational needs to pupils who currently need additional support with their mental health. You will work closely with the SENDCo and other specialists to look at identified needs and deliver this.
Act as family liaison - you will work to support families who are in need of additional support. Ensuring we continue to forge positive, trusting relationships so that children attend school regularly.
Create a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support the overall development and well-being of our children.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance practice and stay abreast of educational trends and best practices.

This is a term-time only post; 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, although we would consider part-time options for the post.
