Job Summary


Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives? The Maelor School-- a high-performing secondary school in the heart of the Wrexham countryside--is growing its Pastoral Support Team. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines pastoral care, safeguarding support, and classroom supervision.

You'll work closely with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure every student feels supported, safe, and ready to learn. You'll also play a key role in maintaining high standards of behaviour and attendance, and provide cover supervision when needed.

Key Responsibilities



Provide 1:1 pastoral support and build positive relationships with pupils and families. Support safeguarding and child protection processes, including administration and meeting attendance. Collaborate with Heads of Year and SLT to monitor behaviour, attendance, and pupil progress. Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences using pre-prepared materials. Assist with internal and external exclusions, investigations, and communication with parents. Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to staff and pupils.
