With food at the heart of every pupil's development, we are looking to recruit an organised, experienced, and enthusiastic Pastry Assistant who understands large-scale operations and is willing to make their mark.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Pastry Assistant to join our culinary team.
As a Pastry Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pastry chefs in creating delicious baked goods and desserts for our customers.
Assist pastry chefs in preparing a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and desserts
Mix, shape, and bake dough for various pastry items
Decorate cakes and pastries as directed by the pastry chef
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
Assist in inventory management and restocking of supplies
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of desserts for service
Follow recipes and instructions precisely to maintain consistency in product quality
Participate in team efforts to improve processes and create new menu items
Qualifications
Food handling certification preferred
Knowledge of basic baking and pastry techniques
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Team player with good communication skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and lates on occasion
Prior experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen
Passion for baking and creating high-quality desserts
