The Role



Farrall's Group is delighted to recruit an

experienced Accounts Assistant

to join our small, close-knit finance team based at our Deeside Depot. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, with particular responsibility for payroll and daily accounting activities.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced accounts professional who is comfortable working with autonomy, accuracy, and responsibility in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain accurate and compliant accounting records across multiple cost centres and companies, ensuring data integrity at all times Process high volumes of purchase and sales invoices, ensuring correct coding, authorisation, and timely posting Raise sales invoices and manage cash allocation, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required Oversee purchase order controls and invoice approval workflows Reconcile supplier statements, resolve variances, and manage supplier relationships professionally Prepare and execute weekly payment runs in line with company controls and approval procedures Perform regular and month-end bank reconciliations, ensuring all balances are fully reconciled Manage credit control and cash collection, and produce and analyse aged debtor Assist with fuel procurement and cost monitoring Take an active role in month-end close processes, including assistance of accruals, prepayments, and journal entries Prepare, process, and reconcile payroll, including payroll journals, pension contributions Ensure payroll accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant legislation Support year-end processes and liaise with external accountants or auditors as required Embrace digital accounting solutions and emerging technologies, including AI tools within the finance function Liaise confidently with internal departments, suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders to resolve queries Provide a high standard of customer service and act as a professional ambassador for the business Support the Finance Manager and Finance Director with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and finance projects

Skills & Experience



Proven experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role Payroll processing experience, including pensions and statutory requirements Solid understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations Experience working with cloud-based accounting systems High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities Confident communicator, comfortable liaising at all levels Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently within a small team

Salary:

Competitive, 30,000 - 34,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
