We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused
Payroll Administrator
to join our busy Payroll and Finance team at Stamford College. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to accuracy, provides excellent customer service, and enjoys working as part of a supportive, professional team.
In this role, you will support the Payroll and Pensions Manager with the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, finance administration tasks, and customer enquiries. You will be a key part of ensuring the College remains compliant with statutory finance regulations and legal requirements, while providing a high-quality service to staff across the organisation.
You will be someone who is committed to learning and developing, able to work effectively with a variety of individuals, and comfortable adapting to a range of situations.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Assisting with the processing of payroll for College staff
Processing and data entry of expenses, overtime, and hourly-paid claims
Assisting with payroll and pension-related queries
Managing the payroll email inbox
Cross-checking payroll information for accuracy
Completing pension forms for both teaching and business support staff
Providing general administrative support with a high standard of accuracy
Answering and directing telephone enquiries
Updating databases and carrying out word processing tasks
Producing letters, reports, memos, and other correspondence using MS Office
Maintaining electronic and paper-based records, including archiving
Supporting College enrolment, induction events, open evenings, and promotional events (occasional evening work with time off in lieu)
Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times
Supporting other departments with occasional administrative duties
Complying with all Health & Safety, Equality, Safeguarding, and GDPR requirements

Has strong administrative and numerical skills
Is able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Can manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a busy department
Provides excellent customer service
Demonstrates a proactive, flexible, and positive approach
Is committed to professional development and continuous improvement
Experience in payroll, finance administration, or pensions is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
