About the Role



We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliant Payroll & Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of our payroll operations while also providing essential administrative support.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Xero, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements. Experience with Simpro would be beneficial but is not essential -- training can be provided for the right candidate.

You will also provide occasional cover (9am-2pm) during holiday periods for an Operations Team Member, ensuring smooth day-to-day business continuity.

Key Responsibilities



Process end-to-end payroll on a weekly/fortnightly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant legislation. Maintain payroll records, employee details, and leave entitlements in Xero (and Simpro if applicable). Reconcile payroll reports, superannuation, and tax obligations. Assist with onboarding new employees, ensuring all documentation and compliance checks are completed. Support with accounts payable/receivable tasks in Xero when required. Prepare payroll-related reports for management. Handle employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner. Provide general administrative support as required. Cover Operations Team Member responsibilities (9am-2pm) during holiday periods.

Key Requirements



Proven experience in payroll administration, with strong knowledge of compliance and legislation. Proficiency in Xero (essential); Simpro experience is advantageous but not required. Confident user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. Flexibility to work 12 hours per week, with the option to increase up to 20 hours depending on business needs. Availability to cover 9am-2pm shifts during holiday cover when required.
