Job Description

Overview


As a Payroll Administrator, you will manage payroll clients from start to finish, overseeing pension schemes, BACs payments, and liaising with HM Revenue & Customs.

Responsibilities include setting up new clients, handling advanced payroll tasks, and conducting payroll analysis.

You will interact with managers, team members, and clients to address inquiries and provide reports. You will also handle employee queries and maintain client relationships.

Additionally, the role includes training junior payroll administrators, ensuring the team is up-to-date with payroll practices and enhancing overall service efficiency.

Duties


Managing own portfolio of payroll clients from start to finish including a variety of different workplace pension schemeso BACs payments for clientso Liaising with HM Revenue Customso Setting up new payroll clientso Advanced payroll work for example, setting up pension schemes, PAYE scheme closures and analysis of payrollo Liaising with managers and team members with payroll enquires and reportingo Assisting with training and development for Payroll administratorso Dealing with employee enquirieso Liaising with clients directly via email and telephone
Maintaining files, records and department databaseo Dealing with any ad hoc querieso Tasks on spreadsheets/word documents to complete for analysis tasks helping towards team developmento Organisational tasks to assist the manager and team memberso Providing recommendations to the Manager about client methods rocedures on payrolls.

Skills


- Ability to work independently and under pressureo Can prioritise workload effectivelyo Ability to communicate with a wide range of people such as team members, clients and occasionally employees on the payrollso Clear and concise written and verbal communicationo Literate and numerateo CIPP qualifications (not mandatory but desirable)o Experience using BrightPay payroll system

Maths and English GCSE A-C or equivalent
