About the Role

We're looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our friendly and fast-paced Payroll Services team. You'll play a key role in supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for both internal and external customers.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong administrative background, a good head for numbers, and a genuine willingness to learn. You don't need previous payroll experience - we're happy to develop the right person. What matters most is attention to detail, organisation, and a desire to build a career in payroll.

What you'll be doing

Supporting the end-to-end payroll process, including starters, leavers, pay changes, absences, deductions, and statutory payments. Checking and inputting payroll data accurately and in line with agreed deadlines. Assisting with payroll reconciliations and end-of-period routines. Responding to payroll queries from customers and colleagues in a professional and timely way. Liaising with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure payroll data is correct. Helping to identify and suggest improvements to payroll processes and ways of working. Working collaboratively with the wider Payroll Services team to deliver a reliable, high-quality service. Handling sensitive information with discretion and in line with data protection requirements.

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a administrative role; a background in finance, accounts, payroll, or numbers-focused environment would be beneficial. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail - you notice the things others miss. Confidence working with data and numbers, with good Excel skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to deadlines. A positive, customer-focused approach with clear communication skills. A willingness to learn, develop new skills, and build knowledge of payroll legislation and processes. Payroll experience or qualifications are welcome but not essential - training and support will be provided.
