Join our team as a Payroll Advisor



The Payroll Advisor plays a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time and that payroll and pension arrangements are managed in line with legal and organisational requirements. Working within the Payroll and Pensions Team, you'll provide reliable advice, maintain robust systems and deliver high-quality payroll services that support colleagues and managers across the organisation.

This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll knowledge, excellent attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities



Deliver accurate and timely payroll and pension services, meeting statutory deadlines and internal controls.
+ Process end-to-end payroll activities including starters, leavers, contractual changes and reconciliations.
+ Carry out salary and pension calculations, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal procedures.
+ Complete monthly payroll checks and data validations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
+ Provide clear advice and guidance to employees and managers on payroll and pension matters.
+ Produce and analyse payroll and pension data to support reporting and business decisions.
+ Support payroll and pension projects and contribute to continuous service improvement.
+ Work collaboratively with HR Systems colleagues to improve processes and systems.
+ Ensure Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is embedded in all decisions and interactions.
+ Identify and report health and safety issues, sharing learning where appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed



Proven experience delivering end-to-end payroll processing in a complex organisation.
+ Strong knowledge of payroll and pension legislation, including tax, National Insurance, statutory payments and auto-enrolment.
+ Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
+ Experience handling sensitive personal and financial data, with a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
+ Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to advise colleagues and managers clearly.
+ Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Confident using payroll systems and digital tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.
+ Experience using a HR/Payroll system such as iTrent is desirable.
+ Level 3 CIPP qualification in Payroll and/or Pension Administration is desirable.
