We are seeking a experienced Payroll and Benefits Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate employee compensation and benefits administration, including legal & tax compliance relating to the processing of payroll, management of deductions and record maintenance. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the accounting function through effective benefits administration. Candidates should possess strong technical skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts related to benefits and payroll processing.
Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Assistance with the calculation
and processing of employee pay, including wages, overtime, and deductions, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
Payroll Accounting:
Payroll related accounting calculations and entries into the Company's ERP/Accounting System
Compliance, Record Keeping & Reporting:
Checking compliance with relevant payroll laws, tax regulations (such as PAYE deductions), and company policies by filing tax reports and maintaining accurate records.
Data Management:
Maintain and update detailed payroll and benefits records, including employee earnings, deductions, and tax information.
Issue Resolution:
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, audit payroll records, and address employee inquiries about pay and benefits.
Skills
Technical Skills:
. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. Experience of , payroll software and ability to interpret payroll reports.
Accuracy & Detail:
Exceptional attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of all payroll calculations and data.
Knowledge of Laws & Regulations:
A good understanding of current payroll, employment, tax, and data protection laws in the UK.
Problem-Solving:
The ability to identify and effectively resolve payroll-related issues.
Organization & Time Management:
Strong organisational skills are needed to manage multiple payroll cycles and meet accounting deadlines. It should be noted that leave will be restricted during critical times of those cycles.
