We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting various accounting functions. This position requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of payroll systems.
Duties
Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Perform data entry tasks related to employee hours, deductions, and other payroll-related information.
Assist with accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
Maintain employee records within HRIS systems such as SAGE ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Collaborate with the human resources department to resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries.
Analyse payroll data for accuracy and prepare reports as needed for management review.
Support the implementation of new accounting software or upgrades, to enhance payroll efficiency.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a payroll or accounting role is desirable.
Familiarity with accounting software
Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of accounts payable processes is beneficial.
Experience with HRIS systems such as SAGE is preferred.
Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication skills to liaise with employees and management regarding payroll matters.
