We are looking for an experienced payroll officer with some knowledge around HR functions and strong administration skills working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with some degree of flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in payroll processing, preferably with experience using Sage, along with strong IT skills to effectively manage payroll systems and data. They should also demonstrate excellent analytical capabilities to generate precise and insightful reports, ensuring seamless payroll operations and compliance.

Role Purpose



Prime responsibility for managing the payroll function to include wages payments for all employees across 2 sites

Manage associated functions such as national insurance, tax and pension payments.

Undertake timely, efficient, and accurate administration of the payroll process.

Provide administrative support to the HR Department.

Objectives



To provide a professional and confidential payroll service. Preparation of the 4 weekly and monthly payroll by extracting the hours worked by using the time and attendance system. Preparation of sister site weekly and 4 monthly payroll Liasing with the HR department in order to ensure that all relevant documentation is received and processed relating to New Starters, Leavers and any other contractual changes. Ensuring the calculation of all salary deductions are made accurately and entered. Calculation of employees' entitlement to Occupational Sick Pay, SSP, SMP and SPP. Ensure that wage payments are accurately keyed into the bank. Ensure Real Time Information reports are made in accordance with HMRC deadlines. Ensure that payments to the appropriate authorities are paid promptly and accurately. Processing the Data Collection for Pensions. Deal with staff queries relating to payroll. Provide accurate and timely monthly data analysis Working with the designated pension provider to ensure that the pension schemes are administered in accordance with the relevant schemes' specifications. Ensure that the relevant payroll reports are submitted to senior management accurately and on a timely basis. Liaise with internal departments and external bodies (e.g., auditors, tax authorities, benefits providers) on payroll-related matters. Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Contribute to process improvements in payroll systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Assist HR with administrative tasks including onboarding and drafting HR documents Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive payroll and HR information at all times.
