About the role
We have a Pedestrian Modelling role available in our established Crowd Flow and Visualisation team. This includes building, running and reporting dynamic simulations using Legion, Viswalk, CAST and STEPS, as well as carrying out static analysis.
You would be involved in a range of modelling projects working with teams across the globe. You will undertake technical roles in the development, application and updating of pedestrian models. You will form part of an international team and be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across the globe.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Include:
Working on pedestrian modelling projects with a focus on developing static spreadsheet based and dynamic microsimulation models
Project and task management on modelling projects to include survey programmes, model development, calibration, validation, demand forecasting and appraisal
Checking and approving model outputs for compliance with quality requirements and industry best practice
Training and mentoring early career professionals to help staff/team development
Liaising with clients and other key project stakeholders
Contributing to business development activities including proposal writing
As a member of our modelling team, you will be supported by experienced colleagues to deliver against applicable industry guidelines and standards. You will be integrated into our global business offering fantastic opportunities for your career to develop.
Candidate specification
Essential
At least 3 years hands-on experience using Legion, Viswalk or CAST modelling software
Experience of modelling study task leadership
Experience in developing pedestrian models from first principles
Pedestrian flow survey design, management and data analysis skills
UK project experience
Desirable
Project management experience including programme, commercial and financial management
Involvement in pedestrian modelling business development activities
Training and mentoring of early career professionals/peers
Working towards professional qualifications (e.g. EngTech, IEng, CEng or CTPP)
Involvement in external professional activities (e.g. CIHT, IET, ICE, STEM)
International project experience
