Job Purpose:



The People Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting our people by providing expert advice, guidance, and support on a wide range of people matters. Supporting the People team, ensuring people-first, fair, consistent, and legally compliant people management practices which foster a positive and inclusive culture, enhancing the overall employee experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:




Provide stakeholder management support to people leaders, with all aspects of the employee lifecycle including flexible working requests, performance and absence management. Contribute and support initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and satisfaction. Stay abreast of changes in employment law and implement updates when necessary. Provide support and advice to our colleagues as and when needed on all people matters. Utilise HR data and metrics to advise and influence effective management of ER cases. Support managers with employee relations (ER) cases from investigation through to hearings and appeals, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes. Key liaison for People team external service providers, ensuring products remain fit for purpose. Contribute to People team projects and initiatives to support the delivery of the People strategy Work with all members of the People Team to support as appropriate.

Skills, Abilities and Competencies:




Excellent verbal and written communication skills Adept at mediating disputes, managing grievances, and facilitating constructive conversations to resolve workplace conflicts. A solid understanding of employment law, HR policies and procedures, and best practices is crucial for providing accurate and informed advice. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking, to analyse situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with individuals are essential for fostering trust and positive working relationships. Organisational Skills: Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing work, and maintaining accurate records are important for efficient operation. Adaptability and Flexibility: The ability to adjust to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment is often required. Discretion and Confidentiality: Handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality is paramount.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:




Essential:


CIPD or equivalent qualified (Level 3-5), with a strong understanding of UK employment law. Demonstrable experience independently handling complex ER cases and supporting senior management through ER and performance management processes. Experience with HR systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other relevant software is often required. Driving Licence
