Now, we're looking for a People Advisor to join us and help drive this mission forward.
Your Role
We're looking for a People Advisor who's switched on, organised, and ready to get stuck in. You'll keep the wheels turning on the nuts and bolts of People operations--making sure our data is clean and a genuine source of truth, payroll runs error-free, and every stage of the employee journey feels seamless.
You'll be the go-to person for questions big and small, whether it's from a manager in the office or a team member on site, making sure everyone gets the support they need. We're also looking for someone who understands how important it is to get the most from our People systems.
You'll make sure our tools talk to each other, become a trusted super-user, and see reporting as second nature. You'll bring a real interest in automation and AI--using them to cut out manual admin and streamline processes so the People team can focus on what matters most.
Location: This role will be based in Sandwich with and occasional travel to other sites if applicable. Who you'll be working with As a vital member of the People Team, you'll collaborate across the business--including Leadership, Operations, Finance, Technical, R&D, Commercial, and Marketing.
You'll play a key role in making sure our People practices help every team thrive. We're looking for someone who can flex their approach--just as confident partnering with senior leaders on strategic priorities as they are building trust and solving day-to-day challenges alongside colleagues on the shop floor.

What you'll be doing
HR Operations & Administration
oKeep employee records accurate, up to date, and reliable in our HRIS (HiBob)--our single source of truth.
Make sure we're compliant with UK employment law and our own policies. o Run smooth onboarding and offboarding processes--from contracts and right-to-work checks to exit interviews--always finding ways to make them less manual and more efficient.
Lead recruitment and onboarding for farm operatives and support the People Partner with other roles.
Support line managers with confidence on disciplinaries, grievances, and performance cases, ensuring fair, consistent outcomes.
Draft HR documents (contracts, letters, change forms) and keep our People Portal (Notion) accurate, clear, and written in the right tone of voice.
Build smart workflows and templates into HiBob so we reduce manual admin and keep processes simple and consistent.
Manage benefits and our training portal, spotting opportunities to automate and streamline.
Payroll & Data Management
Confidently collate, validate, and process monthly payroll inputs--working closely with Finance to keep things accurate and error-free.
Own time and attendance data, absence reporting, and leave tracking--making sure it's clean, consistent, and connected.
Run and interpret reports on payroll, headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics, turning data into insights the business can act on.
Support annual pay reviews, bonus, and benefits processes with precise data preparation and validation.
Drive smarter ways of working by automating reporting and building dashboards so data flows seamlessly across our systems.
Employee Support
Be the first point of contact for employee queries, solving issues quickly and escalating only where needed.
Support employee relations cases with a clear, balanced approach.
Help shape engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives--making sure comms land with the right tone of voice and tracking impact through data.
Project Work & Audits
Take part in People projects--from process improvements and system rollouts to policy development.
Support site management with audit readiness (BRCGS, Red Tractor, SMETA), backed by reliable data and strong processes.
Constantly look for ways to streamline and automate, so the People team spends less time on manual admin and more time on the work that matters most.

What skills you should have
We're looking for someone who is deep rooted, passionate about people, the planet, and (of course) leafy greens, someone who thrives in a collaborative and purpose driven environment.
Must have skills:
Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience in a generalist HR / People Advisor role (manufacturing background would be a bonus)
Confident with data: strong Excel or Google Sheets skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas, visualization, data validation) and able to turn numbers into insights.
Solid understanding of UK payroll processes and statutory requirements--you know how to keep payroll clean and error-free.
Experience working with cloud-based HRIS systems, with a knack for getting the best out of them.
High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills--you keep the small things sharp so the big things run smoothly.
Able to build trusted relationships at every level, with employees and Leadership team
A passion for smarter working: you look for opportunities to automate, connect systems, and reduce manual admin.
An eye for comms--you know how to get the tone of voice right so People messages land well.
Nice to have skills:
Solid knowledge of UK employment legislation
CIPD Level 5 or working towards
Experience working in manufacturing or production environment, familiarity with shift patterns
What success looks like in this role
3 months in - You've rooted yourself in our business, built strong relationships, and contributed to ongoing projects. You will be comfortable with our HRIS and HR and payroll processes
6 months in - You've taken ownership of key initiatives and started seeing the fruits of your labour, such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits admin and employee engagement initiatives
12 months in - You've driven measurable impact, helping shape future strategies and making the business bloom and our employee engagement results demonstrate this.
