An opportunity has arisen for a People Assistant based at the Argos Distribution Centre in Kettering.



To deliver a generalist HR Support in a professional manner, working as a part of a proactive and responsive team to provide pragmatic and focused HR solutions for the site and wider business.



Duties and

responsibilities:

To be responsible for providing an effective and customer focussed HR service which supports all aspects of an employee's relationship and engagement with the business. To provide advice and assistance on policies, procedures and legislation agreements. To advise, support and guide managers in investigations, performance management, absence management, conduct related disciplinaries, appeals and all family friendly procedures (maternity, paternity, parental leave, flexible working) To provide administration support in the recruitment process from start-to-finish including assisting and guiding managers throughout the process. To assist in the production of HR Statistics and KPIs on a weekly / monthly basis. To develop and maintain close working relationships with key customers (internal and external) To update and maintain the HR Information Systems (Oracle) Producing and maintaining accurate reports and records for all HR issues To ensure that all administration is carried out in a timely, effectively and accurate manner To support the development of strong communication and feedback channels with all staff and through a variety of mechanisms to support employee engagement. To support with the learning and development Reporting to the People Manager

A 'can do' solution focused attitude and approach. An understanding in the principles of good HR practice and employment law Resourceful and able to work on own initiative Excellent communication skills Works effectively within the team and see the potential in others. Previous HR experience within logistics / distribution is an advantage A good understanding in the principles of HR best practice and employment law A working knowledge of computerised HR systems. Excellent communication skills - oral and written Excellence in administration including attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy Computer literate Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Confidential and professional approach Ability to organise, plan and prioritise workload within a team environment Flexibility in working hours - to support 24/7 operation Attitude towards continuous improvement
