Job Description

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE



The scope of this position is two-fold, supporting the people and culture requirements for the employees within Run4Wales and Always Aim High Events (based in Wales) for approximately three days per week, and also supporting Caledonian Events and Maverick Race approximately two days per week. All companies are fully or partially owned by London Marathon Events.

In this hybrid position, the role of the People and Culture Manager is to work across the companies on all areas of HR including, employee engagement, learning and development, recruitment, and wellbeing.

The position is responsible for cultivating positive workplace cultures, enhancing employee engagement, delivering a consistent approach to employee policies and practices (where possible), and being able to balance the needs of the teams with the needs of the values, balancing HR planning with hands-on delivery.

All members of the team are expected to take an active role at our events, so weekend working will be required.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Business Partner and Organisational Support



Develop and deliver a People & Culture plan aligned with each organisation's strategic objectives and grass roots values. Support senior leadership in developing initiatives to enhance staff engagement across the different customer groups, and to ensure the teams are engaged, supported and empowered. Have positive working relations with all areas of the businesses to align consistent HR processes and values with budgeting and organisational planning. Provide advice, coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, conflict resolution, and employment law issues. Manage all HR processes and policies: recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, contract compliance (in line with the relevant law) and ensuring the delivery of best practice across the differing entities.

2. Culture



Foster an employee centric culture that supports wellbeing, inclusion, sustainability, and collaboration across companies. Champion each organisation's values, ensuring they are embedded in recruitment, onboarding, performance, and every day communication. Ensure all Managers are equipped with the knowledge to support and manage performance. Lead regular staff engagement feedback groups[HB1] [SN2] , co-ordinate engagement surveys, reporting findings to the senor team and collaborating with Line Managers to take action on findings. Be the go-to person for confidential advice so everyone has an opportunity to feel heard. Create processes to ensure a fair, transparent, and consistent application of policies. Develop and maintain effective internal communication channels that keep staff connected and informed. Coordinate all-staff meetings for Run4Wales (including Always Aim High Events) and internal newsletters that celebrate collaboration and transparency[HB3] . Support leaders in building open communication and feedback capability within their teams.

3. Learning & Development



Identify training needs in order to build and deliver plans which address skills and learning gaps. Coordinate leadership and management development for line managers. Champion and encourage learning and development at all levels through coaching, mentoring and external support. Facilitate talent review process with the senior leadership within each entity. Partner with managers to create individual development plans that align personal goals with organisational objectives. Promote peer learning and cross-department collaboration to build connection and shared purpose.

4. Recruitment



Lead recruitment campaigns, ensuring a fair, inclusive, and efficient process. Develop strong links with local communities and organisations to ensure we are reaching a diverse network in our recruitment and selection process. Establish an environment where prospective team members feel welcomed, supported and safe from day one.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Strong understanding of contemporary HR practices, engagement drivers, and wellbeing strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across diverse teams. Proven ability to design and implement engagement initiatives within resource-conscious environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and values-based leadership.

Skills and Experience



Demonstrated experience in employee engagement, organisational culture, or people and culture management Full use of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Use and maintenance of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

Desirable



First Aid or relevant event safety qualification Passion for physical activity, running and wellbeing

Pay: 27,850.00-45,613.00 per year
