Brief Description

To manage the quality of performance data for both Train Operators and Network Rail.

The role also requires:

  • Reconciling, auditing and reporting of train running data and schedules.
  • Ensuring cancellation and delay data is allocated to the appropriate prime cause.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with Operators and other Network Rail functions.
  • Experience of using IT systems to interrogate and review data and incident logs.
About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities:

1. Develop audit protocols to measure the level of data quality delivered.

2. Undertake quality checks in line with the Performance Improvement Process Manual to maintain the quality of delay attribution at a consistent level.

3. Produce data quality reports, identifying variances, with action plans to resolve.

4. Monitor compliance with the performance data accuracy code and business process manual through systems compliance checks e.g. berth offsetting.

5. Act as the focus for performance data quality issues, identifying and making recommendations for improvements to the train performance data systems.

6. Represent the route on the Data Quality Group, in developing and maintaining a Network Rail specification for performance systems and processes.
