We are seeking an inspirational individual to join our team as a Performing Arts Lecturer on a fixed-term basis. We are very proud of the achievements of our Performing Arts department; our students are motivated and well equipped to develop their performance skills through both theoretical and practical lessons and have a strong community presence, evidenced through projects such as Immersive events at multiple venues on the Island and Mardi Gras.
About The Role:
The Performing Arts Lecturer will play a key role in the planning and delivery of a variety of Performing Arts subjects, such as contemporary dance, singing and acting skills across a range of levels, helping students achieve their full potential through your inspiring and engaging manner, in a positive learning environment. You would be responsible for the course leadership of the programmes.
Your innovative style and approach to learning will be demonstrated through your enthusiasm to motivate and inspire, tailoring your teaching to take account of the wide range of backgrounds and varied academic and vocational aspirations of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
To plan and deliver lessons to a range of classes, maintaining a high-quality student learning experience
To formally assess, giving appropriate feedback (written and oral) and maintaining records of student's progress and development
Undertaking academic tutorial duties, supporting students on an individual basis through academic difficulties
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to secure and maintain successful relationships
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
A proven record of success as an outstanding teacher
Hold a Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject
Knowledge of raising retention and achievement for curriculum area
A working knowledge of a student focused environment is desirable, but not essential
