An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Performing Arts to join our Creative team reporting to our Curriculum Manager for Creative and Digital, Tom Guest. The Creative team at SRC includes Level 2 to Level 4 programmes in Acting for Stage and Screen, Musical Theatre, Dance, Art and Design, Creative Makeup and Film and TV. We have received an Outstanding grade from OFSTED and students from our programmes are currently working in all areas of the creative industries. The staff team are Industry experts, and we work alongside local, regional and national stakeholders such as ARC, The Stockton Globe and the National Theatre to deliver a robust, innovative and exciting curriculum.





As a Lecturer in Performing Arts with Etc. you will be responsible for the delivery of performing arts to a range of students, with a specialism in performance. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive sessions across a range of genres. In this role, you will prepare learners for assessments, performances, and examinations, as well as provide individual and group tuition tailored to meet different levels of ability. You will also contribute to curriculum planning, scheme of work development, and assessment strategies, ensuring that learners are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.





We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can:




Inspire confidence, creativity, and stage presence in learners. Maintain accurate records of learner progress and provide constructive feedback. Safeguard the health, well-being, and safety of students and staff, including those who may be classed as vulnerable adults. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion for all students, staff, and visitors. Adhere to the Prevent Duty, safeguarding learners from radicalisation and extremist influences, while promoting British values.




The successful candidate will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent. They will have experience using digital learning tools and recording software, for example Logic, Pro Tools, or similar platforms, and will be confident in preparing learners for assessments, performances, or auditions. Industry experience as a performer or vocal coach would be highly beneficial. Experience of working with SEND learners would be an advantage.





Finally, the post holder will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, support, and engage learners effectively.
