Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistant

35 hours per week available (initial deployment to Alvaston Junior Academy but willingness to work across schools is essential)

39 weeks per year (Term Time plus 5 days)

Grade E (SCP 10 - 14) - 27,694 - 29,540 (pro rata to hours worked)

The Harmony Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and successful practitioner to join our Inclusion Team. The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of the Peripatetic SEN Teaching Assistant Role. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience of working with pupils with SEMH needs and who need support to regulate.

You will support provision within an Inclusion Hub, providing excellent support for pupils with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly inclusive team that are developing specialist provision in a mainstream setting.?

The postholder will initially be deployed to the Inclusion Hub within Alvaston Junior Academy. For those seeking professional development there may be opportunities to work across our Derby academies as part of the Harmony Trust Development Team.??

An NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience A passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs Knowledge and understanding of pupils with Social, Emotional Mental Health needs and a willingness to support these pupils to thrive Understanding of the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and be able to use effective strategies to support them Experience of developing learning resources that scaffold and support learning Awareness of child development and knowledge of how children learn Experience of?Working with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school Communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework Completion of Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (or?to complete within first term)
