Job Description

CJP Outreach Services are looking for a kind, reliable, creative and flexible Support Worker to provide one-to-one care for an elegant, gentle and warm-hearted lady living with dementia in the HD6 area. She lives at home with her husband in a comfortable private residence, which is a calm, supportive environment and requires day-to-day assistance to maintain her dignity, comfort, safety, and quality of life. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building a meaningful relationship with the person they support, and who is confident in providing creative stimulation, personal care and practical help around the home. You will be part of a small team working 12-hour day shifts (10am - 10pm), with flexibility on which days you work.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, oral health and makeup) Assisting with mobility Providing companionship, emotional support, creative interaction and communication Preparing meals, assisting with feeding and drinks and occasional baking Supporting outdoor walks (wheelchair assistance required) Light housework, laundry, and general tidying Liaising with family and observing/reporting any changes in wellbeing Administering medication

Requirements:

Experience supporting someone with late stages of Alzheimer's is highly desirable Friendly, patient, calm and creative personality Ability to commit to 12-hour shifts (10am - 10pm), with flexibility on days Trustworthy and respectful of privacy and dignity Confident with personal care domestic duties and creative communication
