About the Role:



We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to provide bespoke, person-centred support to a vulnerable adult in their own home. This role is crucial in enabling the individual to maintain their independence, dignity, and a high quality of life within their community. The successful PA will be an integral part of the individual's support network, offering practical assistance, emotional support, and promoting social engagement tailored to their specific needs and preferences.

Job Summary:



The Personal Assistant will work directly with the vulnerable adult to provide personalised support across various aspects of their daily life. This will involve assisting with personal care, household management, appointments, social activities, and general well-being, always respecting the individual's choices and promoting their autonomy. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting someone to live life to the fullest.

Key Responsibilities:



Personalised Support:

Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and privacy are always maintained. Supporting with medication management, including prompting, administering, and accurate record-keeping as per agreed protocols and training. Assisting with mobility and transfers, using any necessary equipment safely and effectively.

Household Management:

Planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Managing household duties including cleaning, laundry, tidying, and ensuring a safe, comfortable, and hygienic living environment. Assisting with grocery shopping and other errands.

Social & Community Engagement:

Providing companionship, engaging in conversation, and offering emotional support. Facilitating and accompanying the individual to social outings, appointments (medical, dental, etc.), hobbies, and community activities. Supporting communication with family, friends, and other professionals as needed.

Financial & Administrative Support (as agreed):

Assisting with managing personal finances, budgeting, and paying bills, always with transparency and the individual's consent. Managing correspondence and administrative tasks as required.

Health & Well-being Monitoring:

Observing and accurately reporting any changes in the individual's physical health, mental well-being, behaviour, or overall condition to the designated contact (e.g., family member/healthcare professional). Promptly reporting any concerns regarding safety or safeguarding.

Documentation & Communication:

Maintaining clear, accurate, and confidential records of support provided, activities, and any incidents. Communicating effectively and regularly with the individual, their family, and relevant professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent support.

Promoting Independence & Choice:

Actively empowering and encouraging the individual to make their own choices and maintain their independence wherever possible. Respecting their privacy, beliefs, and lifestyle choices.

Safeguarding:

Adhering strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures to protect the vulnerable adult from harm or abuse.
Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 13.68-16.07 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
