About the Direct Payment Holder



Seeking a PA to support a young girl who suffered a stroke in the womb and has right-sided hemiplegia and is registered blind, with various other conditions alongside this too.

Although the young girl has a lot of clinical needs she is an absolute ray of sunshine with a very cheeky personality and smile. She has no challenging behaviours, she just wants to enjoy life to the maximum.

Hours and rate of pay hours



16 - 21 hours.

15.50ph daytime and 16.50ph if covering a night.

2 days per week, currently Thursdays and Fridays but for the right candidate other days are available.

Would love someone flexible enough to cover sickness and holidays in the team.

7.30am-9.30am and 2pm-7.30/8pm

Bit of weekend work desirable but not expected.

School holidays we are very flexible on days and hours worked.

What you would be doing...



You will be supporting with mobility i.e.. Hoisting, and physical therapy exercises.

Also providing clinical support such as; peg feeding/flushing, suctioning, administering oxygen, operating Bi-Pap machine, SATs monitor and food pump and maintaining the communication/handover book. writing clearly what care has been provide and noting any changes

Assisting with dropping off and picking up from school via school transport.

Always ensuring a good handover to teaching staff during the dropping off and picking up.

Light household chores will need doing to maintain a clean living space/bedroom.

Required skills and experience



Seeking a dedicated and flexible Personal Care Assistant to provide support to the young girl in the family home and with going to school. This will be for two days a week on Mondays and Tuesdays (although for the right candidate we could be flexible on what days), night hours are available as are weekend hours which can be discussed at interview. The ideal candidate would have some care experience and enjoy working as part of a lovely team, being able to cover any sick or holiday leave.

Someone who has excellent communication skills and excellent time keeping. A flexible, reliable and resilient individual would be ideal.

Clinical experience is desirable but not essential and experience in oxygen / suctioning / peg feeding is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
