Job Overview


I am seeking a caring and dedicated person to join my care team. I can offer a friendly, supportive environment and time to learn my care needs. This is not a typical care role as it encompasses every aspect of my life, 24 hrs a day. You will learn and develop responsibilities for my medical needs along with supporting me in social activities and holidays. My team are able to offer a paced approach to learning because the bespoke quality of care is important to me.

A manual UK driving licence is essential for this role.



We offer good training opportunities and a friendly work environment. I have a helpful team who are supportive of me and any new team members. I value my team and I aim to keep a reliable and sustainable package of care for myself. This will act to also assist my family to take a break.

I am looking for someone who can commit solely to working in my team. The right person should be available to work flexibly around my care needs, daily routines and activities. The post is for 30 - 35 hours a week, shifts are variable hours between 8.00am - 24.00 hrs. On some occasions you will be required to do a night shift.

My disability requires me to have 24 hour support and this includes quiet days at home while I am working at my computer, reading or watching TV.

Responsibilities



Attend all training and engage fully in shadowing and training opportunities. To manage my needs for 24 hour ventilation, including Mouth Piece Ventilation. This includes at home and out in the community. Manage my needs for cough assist. Learn about my chest management and keeping me well. Safely use my ceiling track hoist and electric wheelchair. Assist me with feeding and personal care. Assist in giving my medication. Learn and deliver my regular daily physiotherapy, once trained to do so. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to my care and activities. Drive me to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring my safety and comfort. Work well with my care team and family to provide the support I need. Some light domestic chores.

Skills



A valid manual UK driving licence is essential to assist with my transportation needs. Good working knowledge of driving in Plymouth would be useful. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Caring nature and an organised approach to tasks. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a family home.
