Pet and Forecourt Shop Assistant - Barton Cambridge

Full time role required 40-45 hrs a week required and overtime available

Hourly rate - 13.50 week days and 14.00 weekends

We are a family run business that's been trading in Cambridge since 1934, we have recently expanded our retail site in Barton with its busy forecourt shop and petrol station to include a new pet department that's growing fast and for these reasons we are in need of you!

What's the role?

Predominately, you will be working in our pet supplies department, looking after customers with in the shop and after purchase with advice and guidance to what to buy and helping them make an informed choice, with this you will be a vital member of the team.

You will work closely with our Shop Manager, being involved with the store standards, merchandising the shelves, and arranging displays. The role could develop further if proven to include stock ordering, stock counts and introducing new suppliers. You will have a hands-on approach, inject fun into the workplace and create a truly fantastic place to shop and work.

This role will also at times cross over with working in our main forecourt shop as and when needed.

Who are we looking for?

Experienced in working within the retail sector with a minimum of 6 months hands-on experience. Flexible. Due to the nature of working within a busy retail environment, we need you to have the ability to work a flexible shift patterns across 7 days a week. Passionate for retail and has a proven track record of delivering high standards and great results. A team player with excellent communication skills to engage and inspire your team.
