Location: MORRISONS PERTH SERVICE STATION, PERTH, PH1 5XD

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time

Salary: 12.21P/H

About Us:

Our service station is a busy and friendly local petrol station committed to providing excellent service and a convenient experience for our customers. We offer fuel, a wide range of convenience store items, and various other services. We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Petrol Station Assistant.

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Petrol Station Assistant to be the face of our business. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the petrol station, providing outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for both customers and colleagues. This is a dynamic role that requires a proactive approach and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly, and efficient service at the fuel pumps and in the convenience store. Process fuel and shop purchases accurately using the POS system, handling cash and card transactions. Assist customers with queries regarding products, services, and fuel types. Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and escalate when necessary.

Fuel Operations:

Monitor fuel levels and assist with fuel deliveries (if required and trained). Ensure fuel pumps are operational and clean. Adhere to all safety procedures related to fuel handling.

Shop Operations:

Stock shelves, rotate products, and ensure displays are well-presented and fully stocked. Monitor and manage stock levels, including ordering and receiving deliveries. Check for expired products and remove them from sale. Operate and maintain coffee machines, food warmers, and other shop equipment.

Cleaning & Maintenance:

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the petrol station, including forecourt, pumps, shop floor, toilets, and staff areas. Empty bins regularly and ensure proper waste disposal. Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management.

Security & Safety:

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies. Monitor the premises for suspicious activity and report any concerns. Follow procedures for handling spills or other incidents.

General Duties:

Complete opening and closing procedures as required. Assist with promotional activities and loyalty programs. Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily goals.

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in a retail, customer service, or petrol station environment is preferred but not essential (full training will be provided). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong numerical skills for handling cash and processing transactions. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to cleanliness. Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
