Job Purpose:
To provide efficient, accurate, and customer-focused over-the-counter (OTC) sales and administrative support within the pharmacy, ensuring a positive experience for all customers and contributing to the smooth operation of the dispensary.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve customers promptly and courteously at the pharmacy counter.
Assist customers with over-the-counter medication enquiries, providing accurate information and guidance within your level of training and referring to the pharmacist when necessary.
Offer advice on general health and well-being, signposting to other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
Handle customer complaints and queries efficiently and professionally, escalating complex issues to the duty pharmacist.
Process sales transactions accurately using the pharmacy's electronic point-of-sale (ePOS) system, including handling cash, card payments, and processing refunds.
Develop and maintain a good understanding of the pharmacy's range of over-the-counter medications, health and beauty products, and other retail items.
Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-stocked retail area, ensuring products are correctly priced and displayed.
Stay updated on product information, promotions, and special offers.
Assist with receiving, checking, and shelving deliveries of OTC products.
Monitor stock levels and inform the relevant person when items are running low.
Ensure stock is rotated and expiry dates are checked regularly.
Process prescription collections, ensuring patient identification and adhering to pharmacy procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times in accordance with data protection regulations.
Work effectively as part of the pharmacy team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive working environment.
Assist with general administrative duties, such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining records.
Answer telephone calls in a polite and professional manner, taking messages and directing calls appropriately.
Adhere to all pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and legal requirements.
Participate in relevant training and development activities.
Be aware of and adhere to health and safety regulations.

Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience working in a pharmacy or retail environment.
Knowledge of basic over-the-counter medicines and health products.
Possession of a relevant qualification (e.g., Medicine Counter Assistant or equivalent).
Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing software.
Possess a CEFR Level B2 certificate in English language proficiency (or equivalent qualification demonstrating a similar level of communicative competence).
Live within a reasonable commuting distance of Comber.
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and the successful applicant
must
be able to commit to the specified working hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (with a 1-hour lunch break between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm).
Salary:
Up to 26,000 per annum.
