Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively within a pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations. Assist in the preparation of medication, including measuring, counting, and packaging. Provide information and guidance to patients regarding their medications, including usage and potential side effects. Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed and manage inventory levels effectively. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care. Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Skills

Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medication administration practices and protocols. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and support. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Proficient in using a PMR system - we use Proscript Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
