About the Role



Helmsley Medical Centre is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic

Pharmacy Dispenser

to join our friendly, patient-focused pharmacy team on a part-time basis, working

24 hours per week across Monday, Thursday and Friday

.

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you'll be at the heart of our patient care, ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medicines whilst providing exceptional customer service. You'll work alongside experienced pharmacy professionals in a supportive environment where your contribution truly matters.

What You'll Be Doing



Accurately dispensing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision in accordance with standard operating procedures Handling prescriptions and interacting professionally with patients, providing advice within your scope of competence Supporting the safe sale of over-the-counter medicines and retail products Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards Contributing to stock management, including date checking and ordering processes Recording and reviewing near misses and dispensing incidents as part of our quality improvement culture Participating in patient safety initiatives and team meetings Supporting the induction and training of new team members Ensuring the pharmacy environment remains clean, tidy and professionally presented Working collaboratively with pharmacy colleagues and other healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient care

What We're Looking For



Essential:



NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent recognised by GPhC) Experience working in a community pharmacy Understanding of near misses and dispensing incident procedures Experience handling prescriptions and interacting with patients Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team IT literate Availability to work Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays

Desirable:



Recognised Medicines Counter Assistant qualification Evidence of continuing professional development Experience counselling patients on medicines within appropriate boundaries Previous involvement in training or supporting new team members Understanding of comprehensive pharmacy services beyond dispensing Stock management and inventory control experience

Working Hours



24 hours per week across three days:



Monday Thursday Friday
